However good our planning for potential crises, knowing who else to turn to for help and the impact on those who do help is always going to be part of the wider picture.  This module helps you broaden your thinking and identify who, what, when and how support systems can be developed and maintained for wider community resilience.

Outcomes

By taking this online course, you will:

  • Recognise the importance of developing support systems before crisis events happen

  • Identify who might help with input during and after a crisis in school

  • Consider ways in which supporting someone going through traumatic experiences can impact the supporter

  • Identify what can help supporters develop vicarious resilience, not vicarious trauma
