Course description

This module enables you to recognise why not everyone who experiences trauma will experience post-traumatic stress disorder.  It takes a clinician to make a formal diagnosis and prescribe appropriate treatment: however, it’s helpful to have an understanding of what it is, what to look out for, and when, and how to help if someone we know, or ourselves, seems to be experiencing it.  We may also be able to recognise what might be thought of as post-traumatic symptoms, less severe but still potentially needing support.

You will have continual access to this course for 12 full months.
